As a result of most of the pipe corps of the 2010 Grade 2 South African Champion Band, MacChamberlain Richmond Avenue, joining the Lyttelton Manor Pipe Band, the PBASA Grading Committee decided to promote the Lyttelton Manor Pipe Band to Grade 2 for the 2011 season.
The Cape Town Highlanders Drums and Pipes applied for membership of the PBASA after a long absence and were placed in Grade 3.
